Sarlat, Saint-André-d'Allas

In the morning, head in the direction of Sarlat, a charming village in the Périgord Noir. The traditional market and the covered market of Sarlat are a real institution: it is unthinkable not to do some tasty shopping there. For lunch, you will be comfortably settled in a typical restaurant in the village.

The day will continue with a guided visit to a truffle field, followed by a visit to a site classified as a historical monument: the Breuil huts, located in Saint-André-d'Allas. On the land of this 15-hectare farm, still in operation, bread is baked in an old-fashioned wood oven, vegetables and vines are grown and geese honk peacefully.

At the end of the day, take off in a hot-air balloon and discover from the sky, the most beautiful villages in France and the Périgord. This activity may be subject to weather changes, so the outing will be confirmed the day before or the same day.

In the evening, find again the calm and friendly charm of Sarlat for dinner at the restaurant and discover the local gastronomy. You will then be accommodated in a charming double room in a village guest house.

Vezac, Domme, La Roque-Gageac, Beynac, Sarlat

You leave Sarlat for Vézac, located 15 kilometres south of Sarlat. There you will enjoy a walk in the hanging gardens of Marqueyssac. This classified 22-hectare site offers pleasant walks in the shade of a maze of 150,000 hundred-year-old and hand-cut box trees. Marqueyssac gardens are said to be hanging because they overlook the Dordogne Valley. A guaranteed delight!

You will have full freedom to choose your place to eat for the lunch break, then continue your excursion in the villages of Domme, La Roque-Gageac and Beynac-et-Cazenac. When you arrive in Beynac-et-Cazenac, you will visit the castle of Beynac, a fortified castle dating from the 12th century.

To end this magnificent day, go for a ride on the Dordogne in a gabarre, a traditional flat bottom sailboat, formerly intended for the transport of goods. In the evening, return to the village of Sarlat for an authentic dinner and a quiet night in the town.

Rocamadour, Padirac

Take the road to the charming village of Rocamadour, located on the edge of a cliff and famous for its goat cheese which also bears its name. On arrival, we recommend a visit to the Basilica of St. Saviour, a 13th- century building with Romanesque-Gothic architecture, classified as a UNESCO (United Nations Organisation for Education, Science and Culture) World Heritage Site.

At noon, have lunch in a typical restaurant in Rocamadour centre.

Your afternoon will be devoted to a visit to the Gouffre de Padirac. This natural cavity is one of the largest underground sites which can be visited in Europe. You will go for a boat trip on the underground river 103 metres deep! A fascinating and unforgettable journey lasting an hour-and-a-half.
